The Downtown Rochester Farmers’ Market returns on May 7, and it’s ushering in the 2022 season with special Opening Day festivities.

The first 500 adult customers that first Saturday will receive a free Farmer’s Market tote bag with special offers from local businesses and market vendors, and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital (the market’s presenting sponsor) will be giving away free children’s bike helmets while supplies last. Additionally, guests will have the chance to win gift certificates donated by Downtown Rochester businesses, and live music will be playing from 10 a.m. to noon.

Located one block east of Main Street at the corner of East Third and Water Streets, the Farmer’s Market is open from 8 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, May through October. Shoppers can find Michigan-grown or -made products, including fresh produce, flowers, herbs, homemade baked goods, chicken, eggs, jams and jellies, locally roasted coffee, and more.

“The Downtown Rochester Farmers’ Market provides a community gathering place throughout the summer months,” says Taylor Clayton, marketing coordinator for the Rochester Downtown Development Authority, in a press release. “The market is not only a great way to start your Saturday but has a great atmosphere to shop some of the freshest and healthiest food…”
