Detroit Mi – Precious Night Events, Unlimited Sky Production & The Preservation of Jazz Presents recognizing Women’s History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. Keeping with such a commemorative tradition. The history of women in jazz in Detroit is rich and meaningful with so many textures and stories. We have put together a night to listen to some of those amazing stories through jazz songs, poetry and jazz music. The Out of the Mouth Music Series will feature four Detroit Queens of Jazz at the Greater Detroit Community Outreach Center March 25, 2023.

Sky Covington and her collaborators are the best of the best in Detroit jazz and proud to be a part of The Preservation of Jazz and the Out of the Mouth of Jazz Music Series. Whether it be a slick set of beloved standards such as Avalon, Tenderly, Love for Sale, a bank of original jazz poems and improvisations, or an educated tribute to the legends that paved the way such as Billie Holiday and Abbey Lincoln, a Covington show will leave your heart full and your ears delighted.
