People Helping People Charity Golf Outing
September 15, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Local businessman Carl J. Bentley wanted to do more than hold a party to celebrate his retirement. Bentley has served for decades volunteering for local charities and although he was leaving his career, he wasn’t ready to leave his volunteer activities. As retirement approached, Bentley called friends and kicked around the idea to host a charity golf outing to benefit local community organizations he has supported over the years.
Mr. Bentley decided he wanted to do something to help organizations dedicated to helping other Detroiters just trying to make it in a tough economy. The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW), Teach/Empower/Achieve (TEA) and Mariners Inn have all been selected as the recipients of this year’s charity event. The purpose of the People Helping People Charity Golf Outing is to raise money and awareness of charities focused on helping people positively change or improve their life in the following ways: strengthening families with a clear focus on supporting individuals and strengthening communities by empowering individuals with programs in recovery, training or access to affordable utilities.
Tickets are $100 per golfer, and corporate sponsorship opportunities are available.
