Sky Covington’s Satin Doll Revue

Unlimited Sky Production proudly presents Sky Covington’s “Satin Doll Revue Encore Performance,”sSponsored by Greater Detroit Jazz Society. This show is in recognition of Jazz Appreciation Month, and is a celebration of International Jazz Day, declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2011 “to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe.” International Jazz Day  is celebrated annually on April 30. The Satin Doll Revue will feature songs from some of the greatest jazz musical vocalists of all time:
Sarah Vaughan performed by Kimmie, Horne Bessie Smith performed by Thornetta Davis, Carmen Mcrae performed by Lady  Love, Lena Horne performed by Denise Edwards, Ella Fitzgerald performed by Chelly K Lewis, Nancy Wilson performed by Veronique Musique, Dinah Washington performed by Nina Simone Neal, Etta James performed by Tosha Owens, Nina Simone performed by Faye Bradford, Dakota Staton performed by Ramona Collins, Billie Holiday performed by Vocalist Sky Covington.
These inspirational singers will be accompanied by the legendary Duke Ellington Trio: Music Director Gerard Gibbs on keys, Darrell Smith on upright bass, and Terrance Neal on drums. The show will be hosted by comedian Mike Bonner as Sunnie Wilson. Be prepared  to go back in time. The doors open at 7PM.
