We invite you to participate in our annual fundraiser Bocce Palooza hosted by the Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation for Spinal Cord Rehabilitation. Your support will be life changing for those who benefit from Foundation grants.
Since 2006, the Foundation has raised funds for therapy scholarships for individuals suffering from Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and other neurological injuries. While medical professionals seek a cure, it is the responsibility and commitment of rehabilitation therapists to keep these people healthy and in a lifetime of fitness which drastically reduces further health complications.
Unfortunately, each year there are injured people without the healthcare benefits or private resources required for ongoing therapy and exercise. This health crisis is now intensified with the recent enactment of the law that drastically reduces Michigan’s No-Fault Auto insurance benefits. We expect to see an increase in support requests because of this curtailment. So, your support is even more critical to our mission.
Bocce Palooza raises these necessary grant funds. Thanks to our sponsors and attendees, we have raised over $600,000 since inception and awarded 100 scholarships to grantees to procure the much needed and essential services to achieve optimal independence and quality of life.
Bocce Palooza XIII is set for Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Palazzo di Bocce, Lake Orion, MI. Although the popular Bocce tournament (and awarding of The Googasian Cup) is the main element of the evening, there is fun for all — an Italian buffet, hosted bar, silent auction and raffle. We invite some of the grantees to attend and are happy to see them compete as the bocce courts are accessible to all.
