While there’s nothing wrong with keeping it simple — we’ve all enjoyed plenty of dinner and movie nights at home during this pandemic — why not shake up date night?  As you try to navigate the most romantic day of the year during unprecedented times, consider trying one of these unique Valentine’s Day events.

A Night In The City

The Siren Hotel recommends its Chamber, Chamber Superior, or Parlor rooms for a romantic evening. To capture your love, fashion illustrator Brooke Hitchcock is available to sketch two-minute portraits, and photographer Rosa María Zamarrón is offering polaroid photoshoots. Pricing varies. Just for Laughs

Get some much-needed comedic relief this Valentine’s Day. The My Funny Valentine comedy show will take place at Bert’s Warehouse Theatre. The show will be headlined by comedian and actor Pierre Edwards and feature special guests Mike Bonner, Dezz White, and Foolish. Edwards starred in the 1997 films How to be a Player and BAPS and has also been featured on BET’s Comedic View. The theater will be following COVID-19 restrictions, so tickets are limited for this in-person show. $50+. Feb. 13, 6 p.m. Bert’s Warehouse Theatre, 2727 Russell St., Detroit; tickets available at eventbrite.com
