In 2016, metro Detroit native Christina Viviani launched her lingerie and loungewear brand The Great Eros in New York City. After five years of operating a shop in Brooklyn and selling the brand’s goods online, she’s brought her designs to the Mitten State.

The Great Eros has recently opened a store in Birmingham. Located at 245 W. Maple Road, the store features the brand’s lingerie, including bras, undies, and bodysuits, and clothing, such as casual ready-to-wear tops, jumpsuits, dresses, jackets, and more. The brand partners with family-owned factories and studios in Italy, Peru, and New York City to create its garments.

The shop also offers a curation of jewelry, candles, beauty goods, and fragrances from other brands. The Great Eros has carried items from Cire Trudon, Sigal Fragrance, Gabriela Artigas, and more.

Viviani’s signature design style focuses on minimalism, functionality, clean lines, and organic forms, according to a publicist representing the brand. The initial designs that Viviani — who is the co-founder and creative director of The Great Eros — made were inspired by the Midcentury Modern styles that were pioneered in the metro Detroit area.

The Great Eros’ store is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Those interested in booking a private appointment can text 607-600-3767.
