After more than a year of pandemic-induced stress, we could all benefit from taking a moment to relax and recenter ourselves. Citizen Yoga and Lume Cannabis Co. want to help. On July 24, the Best of Detroit-winning local yoga studio and the Michigan cannabis and CBD company are hosting a wellness-focused event called Yoga on the Lawn at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston.
Taking place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the event will feature an outdoor yoga class led by Citizen Yoga founder Kacee Must, a live DJ set by MEHUŁ, and a DIY CBD Coffee & Tea bar provided by Lume. Attendees will each receive a Yoga on the Lawn T-shirt and Lume and Citizen Yoga swag bags.
“The past year and a half in isolation has been challenging for all of us, but especially for those who struggle with mental health issues and depend on socializing with others for support,” says Must in a press release. “I believe yoga can be an extremely powerful tool to help stay mentally grounded, which is why I look forward to leading my friends and the local community through a practice that has kept myself, and many others, balanced during difficult times such as these…”
Lume is the exclusive cannabis partner of the Clarkston amphitheater. As part of the recently announced agreement, the cannabis and CBD company is opening a 6,000-square-foot Tree House lounge at DTE Energy Music Theatre. While cannabis consumption is not permitted on the premises, the lounge includes space to socialize and enjoy food and beverages, buy Lume merch, and learn about the company’s retail offerings. Yoga on the Lawn attendees will get the chance to explore the Tree House during the event.

Tickets are $15 and are available for purchase online. Proceeds from the event will benefit Common Ground, a mental health center in Pontiac, and Yoganic Flow, an organization that works to make mindfulness practices accessible in Detroit.
Attendees must bring their own mats. Lume is offering rides from Detroit to DTE Energy Music Theatre. Ticket holders interested in reserving a spot on the shuttle can email yoga.bus@lume.com.
