
While it may be a splurge, attending a tasting menu dinner is an exciting way to experience a culinary teams’ pure skill and creativity — not to mention be wowed by the beverage expertise and hospitality. The coming weeks are packed with limited tasting events from some of Detroit’s most sought-after restaurants and chefs, so we compiled a list of six that are on our radar. Many of these dinners have a wine focus.
Krug x Flower at Le Suprême
- When: Wednesday, March 26
- Where: Le Suprême, Detroit
- Cost: $250 per person
Le Suprême’s executive chef Vince Strolis will prepare a five-course meal paired with Krug champagnes. Each dish will include flower, inspired by the annual Krug X Single Ingredient series, in which the winemaker invites chefs to make dishes with its chosen “single ingredient,” for that year. An Evening with LUX Brands and Flannery Beef

Shafer Vineyards Wine Dinner

Detroit Food Academy, a nonprofit that provides culinary programming for students in Detroit, is hosting the second installment of its charity dinner at Vecino in Midtown. The five-course dinner will be prepared by the culinary teams at SheWolf and Vecino, and proceeds will go directly towards DFA programming. Cibo – Sip and Savor

- Where: Cibo Detroit, located inside downtown Detroit’s Cambria Hotel
- Cost: $99 per person
Cibo Detroit, located inside Detroit’s historic Cambria Hotel, is serving a five-course meal curated by Chef Rich Williams with a wine pairing by Great Lakes Wine and Spirits. Vinyl Tasting Presents: 2Pac – All Eyes On Me
- When: April 19
- Where: BasBlue, Detroit
- Cost: $100 per person (additional $45 for wine pairing)
Vinyl Tasting is a recurring album-inspired pop-up dinner prepared by chefs Jermond Booze and Amber Beckem. Their April 19 six-course dinner features courses inspired by tracks from Tupac Shakur’s All Eyez on Me, the legendary rapper’s fourth and final album released during his lifetime.
