Give Detroit – A Charitable Registry

// MISSION

Mercy Education Project serves low-income women and girls in Detroit because educated women uplift communities and create opportunities to change the cycles of poverty. We’ve empowered women and girls through education since 1992.

// KEY SERVICES PROVIDED

Our Women’s program provides adult basic education courses, GED preparation and college-and-career readiness training. Since 2009, 96% of women who completed MEP’s GED program passed the GED. Nearly 80% of our GED graduates go on to higher education, specialized job training and/or gainful employment.

Our Girls’ program offers one-on-one academic tutoring, college-and-career readiness workshops, ACT/SAT test preparation, robotics leagues, college campus tours, and STEAM enrichment activities. Annually, 100% of our high school seniors are accepted to one or more colleges of their choosing!

MEP is committed to fighting entrenched gender, racial, and economic inequities in Detroit. With your help, we can continue to show girls and women in our community that they deserve and have the ability to follow their dreams and change their worlds.
