
Megan Keller, Farmington Hills-native and one of 15 Michiganders competing in the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead Team USA to a 2-1 victory against Team Canada in the gold medal game.
Keller’s highlight-reel goal came 4 minutes and 7 seconds into overtime.

This is Keller’s second Olympic gold medal as a member of Team USA’s women’s hockey team. Her previous gold medal came in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. She also won a silver medal in the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.

Keller is the captain of the Boston Fleet of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). The Fleet shared on social media, “Toss those gloves Megan Keller, you just won a gold medal!”

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was in attendance at the gold medal game and shared, “Congratulations to the US women’s hockey team! Michigan is so proud of Kirsten Simms & Megan Keller, who scored the game winning goal in overtime to secure GOLD for Team USA!”
