Grammy-winning, Frankenmuth-native rockers Greta Van Fleet are preparing for a return to their home state of Michigan. The band — which released the album The Battle at Gardens Gate in April — hits the road next spring for their Dreams in Gold Tour 2022. The tour includes five Mitten State shows.
The tour kicks off on March 10 at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo. Geta Van Fleet is then off to The DeltaPlex Arena in Grand Rapids on March 12, the Dow Event Center in Saginaw on March 13, the Dort Financial Center in Flint on March 16, and the EMU Convocation Center in Ypsilanti on March 17.
Following the Michigan dates, the tour continues to other Midwest cities and international shows in Mexico, Europe, and the U.K. Greta Van Fleet will be joined by Rival Sons, a Grammy-nominated rock group from California, and The Velveteers, a rock trio from Colorado, for the North American performances.
Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Nov. 12. A fan presale will take place on Nov. 10 and a local venue presale will happen on Nov. 11.
Greta Van Fleet is made up of three brothers — vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, and bassist and keyboardist Sam Kiszka — and drummer Danny Wanger. According to a press release, since forming in 2012 in Frankenmuth, the band, which is now based in Nashville, Tennessee, has sold more than 2 million albums worldwide.
The Battle at Gardens Gate is the group’s second studio album. The album debuted as at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart. It features the No. 1 hit “Heat Above,” which spent nearly 40 weeks on the Billboard charts.
