38th Annual Classical Roots Concert

On March 5 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center, NEA Jazz Master and saxophonist Branford Marsalis and soprano Laquita Mitchell performed along side the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for their 38th Annual Classical Roots Concert and 16th Annual Celebration. The black tie event included a reception and strolling dinner, as well as desserts and dancing afterglow. The evening supported Classical Roots’ mission of increasing opportunities through music with programs such as the DSO’s African-American Orchestral Fellowship Program, a mentoring opportunity for young professional musicians.
