Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Opening Night Gala

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra held its Opening Night Gala on Sept. 27 to kick off the 2025-26 season. Billed as Detroit’s premier black-tie gala, the event honored former prima ballerina, full-time philanthropist, and long-time DSO supporter Joanne Danto. The Opening Night Gala featured a cocktail reception with an aerialist and stilt walkers, followed by a concert in Orchestra Hall conducted by Music Director Jader Bignamini. The concert also featured renown tenor Juan Diego Flórez. After the concert, gala supporters were treated to a formal seated dinner.
