Empowerment Plan 2015

On Nov. 12 at the Chase Building in Detroit, Empowerment Plan held its third annual fundraising event. Guests were able to hear the organization’s CEO/Founder Veronika Scott speak, along with seamstresses who shared their personal stories about how Empowerment Plan has shaped their life for the better. Empowerment Plan is a Detroit-based nonprofit that’s dedicated to serving the homeless community. The organization hires many homeless parents to become full-time seamstresses who manufacture coats that transform into sleeping bags at night, and a bag when not in use.
