How to Make Metropolitan Bar & Kitchen’s Gold Finch Cocktail

Metropolitan Bar & Kitchen is part of a neighborhood market with an adjoining eatery that serves “familiar, approachable, and just damn good” food as well as craft cocktails and beer on tap.

Try making their Gold Finch cocktail at home with this handy recipe.

Ingredients

Gold Finch

  • 1 1⁄2 ounces mezcal 3⁄4 ounce Chai Syrup (recipe below)
  • 1⁄4 ounce Suze
  • 1⁄2 ounce lemon juice Luxardo cherry (for garnish)

Chai Syrup Recipe

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 chai tea bags

Directions

Chai Syrup

  1. Heat water and sugar in a pot over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat.
  2. Add in the chai tea bags and steep for 25 minutes. Strain into an airtight bottle and store.

Gold Finch Cocktail

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add all of the ingredients and shake vigorously.
  2. Strain into a rocks glass over ice and garnish with a Luxardo cherry.
