Now Ong, whose résumé includes some of New York’s trendiest restaurants, is in town helping to restructure the menu and design of the Detroit restaurant. The meaty spot has outposts in Nevada, Florida, New York, Texas, and several other states (as well as in Aruba and Trinidad). …  Simon Bennett, whose offbeat Ferndale sushi bar, Nami, closed after 13 years, is now at Blufin Sushi in Grosse Pointe Farms. …  Cinco Lagos, Brian Polcyn’s Mexican spot in Milford, has a new executive chef, Joseph Olson, who had been with Polcyn’s Forest Grill since it opened.
