A colorful month calls for a colorful cocktail. At Cafe 78 in the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD), the cocktail menu is inspired by the Pantone Color System, featuring a pink mezcal/strawberry concoction, a yellow vodka/coconut/lemon creation, and more. But the choice to celebrate springtime is the Purple Pantone 527. It’s a “refreshing brunch aperitif cocktail perfect for any afternoon,” says Cafe 78 bartender Billy Scott. Indeed, the gin, lime, blackberry, and basil combine for a fresh, leafy taste reminiscent of spring’s tender new growth. — Jeff Waraniak
