Drink Recipe: The Dread Pirate

Is there any better way to celebrate National Rum Day on Aug. 16 than with a pirate-themed cocktail? The Dread Pirate was made in part by Andiamo’s Beverage director Chris LaMacchio after pairing up with local distilleries to develop a new line of cocktails for the restaurant. Made with Rusted Crow Distillery’s Davy Jones rum and ginger beer for a bit of a bite, it is a truly spice trader’s dream. 

Ingredients
1 ½ ounces Davy Jones Rum
1 ounce pineapple juice
Ginger beer
Ground nutmeg

Directions
Combine rum and pineapple juice in a shaker with ice, shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass, top with ginger beer. Sprinkle with ground nutmeg.
