ZEKE’S ROCK & ROLL BBQ /// Ferndale lacked a music and barbecue combination in the view of local entrepreneurs Dan Kelly, Jim Tavano, and Mike Mouyianis. So when a storefront became available they jumped. A diverse crowd seems to agree. Bands are chosen as carefully as the menu items, which include beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and burgers, notably “the monster” — two patties topped with pulled pork, ham, and brisket with bacon gravy. Distinctive touches are found on the list of sides, including spicy sriracha slaw and jalapeño mac and cheese with pulled pork.
