The revival of the celebrated seafood house is bringing in two different crowds to see what has been wrought in the RenCen: those who remember the Gratiot Avenue original and those who’ve only heard about it — at a ratio of about 65-percent former customers and 35-percent new. Crowds have been impressive since the opening in September, with many of the veterans reminiscing about celebrating big occasions at the original restaurant. The fact that Joe Muer often wanders through the three dining rooms, helping bone Dover sole and branzino at tableside — and that there’s a great river view — doesn’t hurt, either.
