LE GEORGE MEDITERRANEAN BISTRO:

An open kitchen sends out house-made pita bread to accompany the Middle Eastern menu of kaftas and kabobs, with a few French touches in such dishes as tournedos and steak au poivre — an acknowledgment of the French influence in Lebanon, birthplace of proprietor George Farah. The space shows the touch of designer Ron Rea, who transformed the storefront with mirrors and photographs of old Beirut displayed against pale-blue walls. 124 E. Main St., Northville; 248-924-2016. L & D daily. $16 H

PEGASUS TAVERNA:

The cry of “opa!” resounds in St. Clair Shores since the opening of the second edition of the longstanding Greektown restaurant at 558 Monroe. In addition to giving a Hellenic spin to the location on the Nautical Mile, which formerly housed Tom’s Oyster Bar, the founding family also unveiled the same extensive menu of Greek dishes, from moussaka and spinach pie to gyros and roast lamb. 24935 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores; 586-772-3200. L & D daily. $15 H
