Beau’s Grillery /// The spacious dining room with its uncovered windows and dramatic lighting from open filament bulbs is backed by a highly professional staff headed by chef/proprietor Zack Sklar and executive chef Dan Campbell. The activity in the big kitchen is visible behind a big glass wall. Standout dishes on the solidly American menu include dry-rubbed ribs, prime New York strip, and oysters from the wood-fired grill. Dime Store /// Just what the downtown restaurant scene needed: a cool breakfast/lunch spot that also serves snacks and cocktails in the evening in a stylish setting in the Chrysler House. The catchy name is derived from the building’s former identity as the Dime Building, and it adds just the right retro touch to a sprightly contemporary American menu, typified by omelets and benedicts early in the day and creative sandwiches such as the duck Reuben later.
