The Current: Great Lakes Steelhead Trout with orange ginger glaze and asparagus

The Current /// It’s prime time for marina restaurants like this reborn spot (previously Captain Jack’s and Rojo Mexican Bistro) now offering an all-day menu focusing on waterfront faves including fish and chips, burgers, and clam chowder, but going beyond with a few surprises, including a version of the BLT with blackened trout and walleye with a potato chip crust. The bar emphasizes Michigan beers reflecting the menu that spotlights local products including Great Lakes fish and Rock City pie. Harbor 9 Marina, 24026 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. 586-773-7770. L & D daily. $15 H

Wicked Table /// Longtime restaurateur Penny White was almost synonymous with mornings, thanks to her successful Breakfast Club spots around town over the last 15 years. She figured it was time to take on the other two meals of the day, and that spawned Wicked Table, where the American menu has interesting international touches, the price structure is gentle, and a bar has been added to the amenities. Notable dishes include puff pastry-topped chicken potpie, steak frites, fish and chips, and lamb burgers. Sandwiches and salads star at lunch. Desserts aren’t overlooked, and they include a lemon icebox pie and apple crisp, a longtime favorite at the Breakfast Club. 38503 W. 10 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills; 248-474-7777. L & D Mon.-Sat. $15 H
