Located in the historic Grand Army of the Republic Building, a Richardsonian Romanesque structure that fulfilled its namesake until the mid 1930s, Parks & Rec Diner is now one of Detroit’s most popular destinations. Brunch is served seven days a week from its pale blue interior filled with classic metal tables. Photographer Jacob Lewkow captures an original Belle Isle “Welcome” sign, which depicts the iconic Scott Fountain and hangs above a table along the diner’s back wall.
