Valentine’s Day is approaching, so “like” must be in the air. The folks at Roast know how to do a nice steak, naturally. But their cocktails are the object of Hour Detroit readers’ affections, as witnessed by their perch atop Hour Detroit’s “Best Happy Hour” list a few times. The bartending crew tries to rotate the drink menu at least quarterly, each contributing to the mix, so to speak. Here’s a little story of “Unrequited Like,” as told by Rick Paulger.
Ingredients:
1 ½ ounces Meletti Amaro liqueur
1 ounce The Black Grouse scotch
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
1 ounce soda water
Rosemary sprig for garnish
Directions:
Pour all ingredients except garnish into shaker filled with ice. Shake to mix and strain over fresh ice in a highball glass. Garnish with the rosemary sprig.
