Yesterday, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee unveiled a collection of limited-edition, officially licensed bobbleheads in celebration of the 125th anniversary of Michigan State Basketball.
The collection features five bobbleheads including one of the MSU mascot, Sparty, and two Hall of Fame coaches: Jud Heathcote and Tom Izzo.
The Sparty figure features the mascot holding a basketball and giving a no. 1 signal. There are two bobblehead options for Heathcote and Izzo. Pick from the ones that feature each coach standing on a basketball court base with their names and the 125th anniversary logo or the Championship Celebration bobbleheads, which feature Heathcote holding the net on a court with the logo and Izzo standing on a ladder holding the net in the air after cutting it down.
Each of the bobbleheads in the collection are individually numbered to 2,023 and are available for preorder on the museum’s website. The Sparty bobblehead is $40, the coach bobbleheads are $30, and the Championship Celebration bobbleheads are $35. A complete set is $150. There is a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
They are expected to ship in March.
“We are excited to release these bobbleheads in celebration of 125 years of Michigan State men’s basketball,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said in a press release.
“With Hall of Fame coaches Jud Heathcote and Tom Izzo leading the way, the Spartans have been one of the most successful programs in the history of men’s college basketball. These bobbleheads will be must-haves for Michigan State fans everywhere!”
According to a press release, Michigan State Basketball played their first season in 1898 and have made 36 NCAA Tournaments, including 25 consecutive appearances, since 1957.
