The Rugiero Promise Foundation has become a catalyst for finding a cure for Diabetes. The Casino Royale is the signature event benefiting Michigan Medicine at the University of Michigan and their advanced cutting-edge work in Diabetes. We are proud to partner with Dr. Peter Arvan and his team of world-renowned scientists who are leaders in their field, and we salute them for their dedication and frontline work in diabetes. “University of Michigan Health is grateful to the Rugiero Promise Foundation for their leadership and dedicated support of type 2 diabetes research. Researchers across U-M are focused on understanding many aspects of this complex disease, and your generosity helps make this work possible. We must attack type 2 diabetes from several different directions at once,” says Peter Arvan, M.D., Ph.D., professor of medicine and Brehm Professor of Diabetes Research. He also stated that “The beauty of the Antonio Rugiero Diabetes Research Fund is that it gives us the ability to be nimble about how we deploy these resources across the type 2 diabetes spectrum.”
In our 13th year, we are recognizing the extraordinary accomplishments and funding we have achieved through Casino Royale and the generous support of our event Chairs, sponsors, suppliers, and the many volunteers who work all year to produce this event. This year, we are especially inspired to reach new heights with the help of our Event Chair and esteemed developer, Dominic J. Moceri – expanding our support to find life-saving medicines, treatment and ultimately a cure for this disease. We are grateful to have Dominic and his family work with us to put on an exciting event – “An Evening in Monte Carlo”.
