After a standout year marked by accolades and growth, Adelina is raising the bar once again – this time through an ambitious new wine program that deepens its connection to Italy and celebrates the craft of pairing food and wine.
Since opening in Downtown Detroit, Adelina has become known for its Italian-Mediterranean cuisine, elegant ambiance, and attention to detail. In 2025 alone, the restaurant celebrated its one-year anniversary in June, was voted Best Italian Restaurant (Wayne County) in the Metro Times Best of Detroit 2025, and earned Best Appetizers in Hour Detroit’s Best of Detroit 2025. Building on that momentum, Adelina is now turning its focus to wine – expanding its list and introducing a series of curated dinners designed to transport guests across Italy’s most celebrated regions.
“Our goal is to create experiences where guests don’t just drink wine – they connect with its story,” says General Manager and Sommelier Ian McClain, who is leading the program. “Each dinner and each bottle on our list reflects the craftsmanship, culture, and personality behind it. Italy has 20 regions, and all of them produce incredible wine; between our wine list, wine dinners, and weekly wine features all of them will be covered by the wine program here at Adelina.”

Expanding the Wine List
Adelina’s new wine list features over 125 bottles with a strong focus on Italy, spanning 11 regions from the Alpine vineyards of Trentino–Alto Adige to the volcanic slopes of Sicily. The list captures the diversity of Italy’s winemaking heritage – from elegant Barolos and Amarone’s to crisp Pinot Grigios and coastal Pigato (a Vermentino clone native to the region of Liguria) – offering a true tour of the country’s terroirs.
While Italian wines remain at the heart of the program, the selection also includes standout producers from France, Spain, and California, allowing guests to explore beyond the Italian peninsula. Each bottle has been carefully chosen to complement Adelina’s Italian-Mediterranean cuisine and elevate the restaurant’s refined yet inviting dining experience.

A Series of Wine Dinners
Adelina’s wine dinner series, launched earlier this year, has quickly become one of its most sought-after experiences. Each dinner features a five-course menu curated by Executive Chef Marco Dalla Fontana to pair harmoniously with the featured wines.
The next event – the Bertani Wine Dinner on Thursday, November 13th at 6:30pm – will highlight the storied wines of Veneto, a region that holds personal significance for Chef Marco, who is from Veneto.
Guests will enjoy a journey through Bertani’s portfolio, from bright Valpolicella to the iconic Amarone, each paired with seasonal dishes that reflect the soul of Northern Italy.
Following the Bertani Wine Dinner, the Adelina will continue its wine programming into the new year with additional events in January and February, including an evening featuring Slo Down Wines from California – a reflection of the program’s expanding global scope.
Continuing Adelina’s Evolution
The new wine program marks the next step in Adelina’s evolution – a natural extension of its dedication to craftsmanship, hospitality, and storytelling through food and wine. With its award-winning cuisine, striking atmosphere, and growing emphasis on curated experiences, Adelina continues to establish itself as one of Detroit’s premier dining destinations.
As the restaurant enters its second year, guests can look forward to an ever-evolving calendar of wine dinners and features that celebrate the art of pairing – uniting people, place, and palate one glass at a time.
