At COTS, we believe every family deserves opportunities to succeed. Last year, because of supporters like you, 1,144 individuals—including 648 children—found safety, shelter, and stability through COTS. But as federal funding continues to shift, families who count on us are at risk of losing the support they depend on.
Federal funding plays a vital role in helping us provide housing, emergency shelter, and supportive services for families. But your compassion and generosity bridge the gap, ensuring we can continue walking alongside families as they work toward self-sufficiency.
A Journey of Renewal
When Margret and her young son Ezekiel arrived at Peggy’s Place, COTS’ emergency shelter, they were facing uncertainty and heartbreak. Margret had just left an abusive relationship and was grappling with depression. But it was in that moment of brokenness that something shifted.
“I made some bad choices,” she reflects. “But when I started going to the Bible study sessions at COTS, I was able to reconnect with the Lord. I rededicated my life to Him and left all the foolishness behind.”
Through spiritual healing and the support of the COTS community, Margret began to rebuild her life. She worked closely with her Passport to Self-Sufficiency™ coach to focus on her goals—not just for housing and employment, but for personal growth, emotional healing, and family stability. Over time, she began to rediscover her strength, her purpose, and her voice.
Today, Margret is a pastor. Her son, Ezekiel, is an ordained deacon. “We represent the Lord in everything we do,” she says with pride. “Failure is impossible unless you just don’t want to succeed.”
Your Support Creates These Transformations
Stories like Margret’s remind us why COTS exists—and why your support is so urgently needed. Families come to us during their hardest moments, and with your help, they leave with new hope and long-term stability.
But summer is a difficult time for giving. While donations tend to slow down, the needs of families do not. The funding gap becomes more real—and more risky—each day.
You Can Be the Difference
As we face these new funding challenges, we’re calling on our community—on you—to help us continue this vital work. Your donation helps us provide emergency shelter and transitional housing for families in crisis, provide coaching and resources through the Passport to Self-Sufficiency™, and walk alongside families as they build lasting stability.
When you give, you’re not just offering temporary relief—you’re investing in lifelong transformation. Margret and Ezekiel’s story is just one of many. Behind every door we help open is a story of resilience, faith, and the power of community. Thank you for being part of that story.
Give today. Help us create opportunities to succeed for families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.
