The Black Wedding Experience (BWE), a Black Woman-Owned business lifestyle brand, that specializes in nationwide expos showcasing minority vendors in the wedding and events space has selected Detroit, Michigan as its next Expo pop-up location. Their last Expo in Washington DC in April was a success with hundreds of attendees, and amazing vendors such as: WLegacy Designs, Woosah Bride, JBri Designs, DMV Chauffeuring Services, House of Udeez, Moh B. Couture, artist Isaac Geralds, and more. The BWE Expo will be touching down in Detroit, Michigan at the Corner Ballpark, formerly the Tiger Stadium. The Expo will take place on September 23, 2023, from 11AM-3PM.

The BWE founder, Josephine Ocheni, expects nothing less than another amazing turnout in Detroit, given its heart, soul, and outdoor art culture that draws people from all over the world. She stated that they also selected Detroit because of the drive of entrepreneurship they believe exists in the air! Businesses are popping up everywhere, transformation is happening, and people are doing big things that celebrate culture, which falls right in line with the spirit of Detroit. Josephine also hopes that vendors within their show are able to fill a cultural gap that couples might be in search of for their special day that speaks to certain elements such as: food, attire, design & decorations, and more.
For this reason, BWE is excited to invite communities around Michigan and the Midwest region to join in on the fun of the Black Wedding Experience Expo and celebrate the artistry, sophistication, and excellence of local minority vendors in the wedding space.

The Expo is for engaged couples, bride tribes, family and friends, community members, heck those who just want to be in a space that celebrates love! Trust us you don’t want to miss out! BWE is aware that the landscape is changing all around us as it pertains to weddings. Couples just don’t want everything thrown together haphazardly; they want a experience! They want vendors that can wow them, transform venue spaces, and personalize their special day with cultural elements that leave them speechless.
Attendees can expect a fashion show with local vendors such as: Smart Choice Suits-A Men’s Clothing Store located in Chicago that specializes in suits, tuxes, blazers and more, J’Mone, a high-quality shapeware brand for women of all sizes, Glam Touch Up Beauty Cosmetic by Jasmine Cloud, among many others. Individuals will be able to purchase wedding necessities in normal trunk show fashion and book minority vendors onsite such as photographers, videographers, decorators, and more. Food tastings will be on deck as well as door prizes, while the music is bumping in the background, and everyone is having a good time.

The Expo currently has limited space for just 45 more vendors in the following categories: caterers, food trucks, decorators, bakers, mixologists, transportation, design, and more. Interested vendors should visit www.blackwedxp.com and fill out an exhibit form. Attendees can purchase tickets on their website or directly on Eventbrite by typing in Black Wedding Experience. All inquiries can be sent to blackweddingexp@gmail.com.
