Summer is in full swing, and Michiganders are celebrating with lakeside parties, backyard barbecues… and the inevitable hangovers that follow. But one cannabis company is offering consumers a new, hangover-proof way to enhance their sunny celebrations: fast-acting, THC-infused gummies.
Wana Brands, a rapidly growing edibles company with a presence in 14 states (plus Puerto Rico and Canada), has launched a months-long campaign to bring savings, swag, and information to customers in Michigan, Colorado, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Oregon. Its purpose? To show the world why Wana Quick Fast-Acting Gummies are the perfect alcohol alternative for all your summer fun.
Why Wana Quick?
Traditional cannabis edibles are always an option for the alcohol-adverse… but as a replacement for booze, they do have some disadvantages. For one, they take between 45 and 90 minutes to kick in. They also last anywhere from 4-6 hours, making their effects more or less a day-long commitment. And they tend to produce a heavy, intensely intoxicating feeling that many consumers describe as a “body high” – and that isn’t always conducive to energetic socializing.
Wana Quick Gummies are something else entirely. Powered by advanced technology known as Thermodynamic individual Molecular Encapsulation (TiME), these vegan, melt-proof edibles deliver results in 5-15 minutes… faster on average than an alcoholic drink. They last about 2-4 hours, so you can take them before a concert or party in the middle of the afternoon and feel sober enough to function normally when it’s over. Finally, they produce an entirely different kind of psychoactive experience, one which Wana describes as “a lighter ‘head high’ that feels like smoking.”
It’s this last attribute that sets Wana Quick apart from other fast-acting edibles. It works like this: when you inhale cannabis, you pull a molecule called Delta-9-THC into your bloodstream. Delta-9 produces a light, rapid-onset high that lasts between two and four hours. Typically, ingesting cannabis via edibles changes this experience – as the edible is digested and metabolized in your liver, that Delta-9-THC transforms into 11-Hydroxy-THC.
Wana Quick’s advanced nano-technology encapsulates each Delta-9-THC molecule in a thin, water-soluble layer. Because the human body is 70% water, this layer acts as a kind of “disguise” that tricks your system into absorbing the THC faster and more efficiently. Not only does this make Wana Quick’s onset exponentially faster, it also ensures that the Delta-9 reaches the bloodstream before it can be metabolized and converted in the liver. The result? A cerebral high ideal for interacting with friends.
If that isn’t enough to make Wana Quick your go-to alcohol alternative, consider that the gummies come in unique cocktail-inspired flavors like Peach Bellini, Strawberry Margarita, and Piña Colada, with new options slated to launch later this summer. They’re also class-specific, meaning they’re enhanced with additional plant compounds called terpenes to deliver consumers their choice between relaxing, energizing, or balanced effects.
The “Summer of Quick”
To spread the word about Wana Quick, Wana has launched a series of summertime pop-up events at dispensaries across Michigan. Customers who visit during the designated time will receive cold (non-alcoholic drinks), free Wana merch, and the opportunity to receive a 1¢ package of Wana Quick when they purchase two more.
For Wana, campaigns like this one are an important way to reduce the stigma around cannabis consumption and bring their products into the mainstream. “It helps to normalize cannabis,” Chief Marketing Officer Joe Hodas recently told AdWeek. “[This] shows people that it’s no different from any other CPG product.”
The event schedule is live at wanabrands.com/summerofquick. More events will be added toward the end of the summer, which means that interested customers are advised to check back every now and then for updates.
A Commitment to Community
Beyond producing high-quality, innovative cannabis products, Wana’s core mission is to “enrich all the communities they serve.” As part of that initiative, they’ve partnered with the League of Women Voters to place volunteers at select Summer of Quick events. Visitors will be able to check their voter registration, begin the registration process, or receive information about local elections.
But this partnership is only one small facet of a robust Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Wana CEO Nancy Whiteman recently established a nonprofit charitable organization known as The Wana Brands Foundation. Both the corporation and the Foundation provide funding, mentorship and other resources on the national and local levels, with a focus on providing essential needs like food, housing, shelter from domestic violence, mental healthcare, and – for those suffering under the stigma of a criminal cannabis conviction – expungement and help reintegrating into society. “For Wana, service is not an ancillary goal of doing business. It’s THE goal,” says Karla Rodriguez, Wana’s CSR Director. “And we don’t foresee that ever changing.”
