Get ready, Michigan – American Speed Festival is back! From October 3rd to 6th, M1 Concourse in Pontiac along historic Woodward Avenue, the ultimate destination for car enthusiasts, will bring the thrills of powerful engines up-close and live on a hot track. There’s something for all ages at American Speed Festival.

    What to Expect

2012 Ferrari Challenge: Get up close with a factory-built Italian race car, a car honoring 30 years of Ferrari’s iconic racing series.

Hudson Hornet: Expect to see the 1952 Hudson Hornet, a historical automobile that gained renewed fame after appearing in the 2006 movie Cars. Owned by Michigan native Al Schultz, this piece of automotive history was recently inducted into the National Historic Vehicle Register in 2022. It’s the only remaining factory Hudson Hornet in the world and the oldest winning race car still in existence.

Dine and Drive: The festival kicks off on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Dine and Drive Tour, starting at the M1 Concourse Events Center. Guests will start their day with a continental breakfast setting off on a guided journey across Oakland County, promising scenic views, access to a rarely seen private car and motorcycle collection, and a live cooking display from the head chef at Fork ‘n Pint for lunch. After the cruise returns to M1 Concourse, a craft beer presentation and a cigar rolling demo is planned to help the drivers unwind.

Garage Reveal: On Friday at 6 p.m. the doors to select private garages on the property will be open to explore for those with a Garage Reveal ticket. Guests will get a guided tour where they can view the extraordinary car collection, architecture, and chat with owners while enjoying dinner and crafted cocktails.

Racing From All Eras: On Friday and Saturday, everything from vintage Indy cars to historic stock cars and modern-day supercars will be performing on the track. This is a rare opportunity to experience race cars from every era as they go around the 1.5-mile M1 Concourse Speed Ring and provide a mesmerizing display to the attendees gathered. NASCAR Hall of Fame presentations and displays of student-designed Formula SAE cars will be available to view.

2024 Master of Motorsports – Richard Petty: Each year, American Speed Festival honors an automotive racing legend who has impacted motorsports in a positive way. For 2024, M1 Concourse will honor Richard Petty “The King” as the Master of Motorsports during the annual Checkered Flag Ball. With 200 career victories and seven Cup Series Championships, Petty’s legendary resumé remains confidently unmatched in NASCAR history.

Checkered Flag Ball: In a show of commitment to the community it calls home, M1 Concourse will host the annual Checkered Flag Ball and Bootleggers Bash charity event, with special guest Richard Petty on Saturday evening, October 5th. Proceeds benefit M1 Mobility, which focuses on providing Pontiac residents access to community programs and services.

Ride Alongs: For those desiring a more intimate experience at the track, on Sunday, M1 Concourse is offering attendees the ability to ride in one of their Fleet Cars on a portion of the track alongside a professional driver in addition to the action-packed activities offered Friday and Saturday.

General admission to the American Speed Festival includes access to the event grounds, parking, shuttles, food trucks, biergarten, display cars, racetrack experiences, the Insiders’ Garage Speakers Symposium, the awards show, music, and entertainment. The festival runs from October 3rd to 6th.

Tickets can be purchased online at https://m1concourse.com/american-speed-festival.
