Shredderz Food Truck – An instant favorite to those lucky enough to come across them in the wild. They’re a Metro Detroit delicacy that brings a fresh and much needed revitalization to a staple that’s often overlooked: the hash brown. (Or hashy b’s as their staff calls them.) Shredderz’ boasts about each shred of hash to be crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated with their proprietary blend of seasonings for the ultimate hash brown experience.
They don’t just serve hash browns though. They’ve got shredded meats such as steak, bacon, chicken, BBQ pulled pork, chorizo, lamb, corned beef, along with vegan/vegetarian options that are also amazing.
Now, combine all these braised meats, a selection of delightful house made sauces, various toppings, veggies, and of course their signature browns, and you’ve got yourself a Shredder. You get the option to order each Shredder as a Skillet, or a wrap. The Skillets are served over a bed of their signature hash browns and served with a utensil, while their wraps are served in a 12” garlic herb tortilla and stuffed fat. They serve incredible breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for any occasion.
The family-owned food truck earns most of its revenue from catering for private events such as graduations, corporate parties, employee appreciations, weddings, birthdays, and many more. They work regularly with big names such as the Lions and have even catered for Hour Detroit, which was a huge success. You can also find Shredderz in the public serving at Cadillac Square from 11a-3p during the weekdays, but you’ll want to check their social media to find that schedule.
After 8 successful years on the road with the food truck, they are expanding to a permanent brick-and-mortar location in Hazel Park. Just south of 9 Mile Rd on John R. (21839 John R, Hazel Park), Shredderz is opening up a 24/7 ice cream shop/eatery called S.H.R.E.D. At this location, they’ll be selling their food truck food, along with some exciting new menu items, and of course, ice cream. There are rumors they’ll even be selling something called ShredMac which is a mac and cheese that will utilize their house made smokey cheddar bechamel cheese sauce. Word is they’ll be opening early to mid-August of 2023 so keep an eye out for this gem!
