Fine art doesn’t have to feel out of reach – that’s the belief that sparked Paragon Art Collective, founded by Mary Wysocki. For the past five years, Paragon has helped people discover art that speaks to them, guiding everyone from first-time buyers to seasoned collectors toward original works that reflect their unique style.

Wysocki has become a self-described “art matchmaker”, an approach that has resonated for many in Michigan and beyond. Her journey started with a desire to make art collecting more approachable, and today her business has grown into a bridge between artists and clients across the globe. In November 2025, Paragon exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair in Singapore – a full-circle moment for Wysocki, who once lived there and considers it the place she first fell in love with art.

“Walking into a gallery can be intimidating,” she says. “My goal is to make the experience of buying and collecting art more welcoming and inclusive. I listen to my clients to understand the type of art that expresses who they are and what they love – and then we find it, or have it created together.”

Paragon’s reach now spans continents, yet its roots remain firmly planted in Detroit’s creative community. In recent years, Wysocki has placed original works in homes and businesses across Michigan and partnered with Neiman Marcus and Uncork for the Cure, curating works to display in-store as part of fundraising for the fight against breast cancer. She also collaborates closely with local artists, helping them expand their reach and build their presence in the wider art world.

The collective’s collaborations are as diverse as the clients themselves. Paragon has showcased works from local artists like Eric Lowry (el cappy), Mike Han, and Amelia Currier, plus international artists like Rowena Martinich, Edvarda, and Bui Van Hoan, among others – all while continuing to discover emerging talents. Whether it’s a bold abstract for a medical practice, a calming piece in a spa, or a commissioned piece for a Manhattan apartment or a Detroit home, Wysocki has a singular goal: to bring the joy of original art into everyday life.

“There’s something powerful about art,” she says. “When you’re personally involved in the selection or even creation of a piece, it becomes part of your story. My job is to make the right match within each client’s budget. We explore everything from up-and-coming to well-established artists, going on an art adventure until we find the perfect piece.”

Wysocki also handles the steps that typically cause stress for buyers, including the art search and price negotiation. Whenever possible, she works directly with artists, believing that piece builds a more meaningful connection between collector and creator.

“Art belongs in people’s lives. It can change the way you see a space – and sometimes even the way you see yourself,” says Wysocki. “I believe that the right artwork can find you as much as you find it, and I am just the lucky matchmaker who helps bring it all together.”
