Celebrate the arrival of spring with these four “up north” events. Stretch your body and mind at a local vineyard’s yoga retreat, bring your competitive spirit to the North Mitten Race, and cultivate your food and wine pairing skills at a charcuterie board workshop. And, if that’s not enough, there’s a whole month dedicated to wine tasting during Traverse City Uncorked in May.

    Yoga Retreat at Chateau Chantal
Start the season with a re-centering of the mind, body, and soul. On April 5th and 6th, Chateau Chantal is hosting a Yoga Weekend Retreat, designed to be a marriage of luxury and tranquility. The in-house yogi caters to all levels of experience, the guided journaling and intention-setting invite self-discovery and self-reflection, and the perfectly paired wine and food menu will nourish you along the way. You’ll also have the chance to adventure to nearby wineries, explore downtown TC, and hike to the historic Mission Point Lighthouse. Book your restorative yoga retreat today and escape into the serenity of the Traverse Wine Coast.

Black Star Farms Charcuterie Board Workshop
This season, learn to make your own charcuterie board for your next spring picnic. On both Saturday, March 23rd, and Saturday, April 20th, Black Star Farms is holding charcuterie board workshops. Expand your hosting talents to include the curation of a delectable snacking spread with the help of Sous Chef Leah Moerdyk. The workshops include a lively demonstration by Moerdyk and a glass of wine to sip on while you learn professional tips and tricks. In the end, you’ll leave far from empty-handed with a mouthwatering charcuterie board big enough to share.

North Mitten Race at Crystal Mountain
Say goodbye to winter hibernation! It’s time to get moving this spring at the 10th annual North Mitten Race. Crystal Mountain is hosting a half marathon, 10k, and 5k on their scenic resort property. The race routes are a fun combination of open trail, pavement, and backcountry dirt roads that do not climb the mountain; ideal for beginner and experienced runners alike. Advanced reservations are required, so start training and sign up for the North Mitten Race today!

    Traverse City Uncorked
It’s wine time! Traverse City Uncorked is a month-long celebration of Michigan vino along the Traverse Wine Coast. 60% of our state’s wine grapes are grown in the Traverse City region, so there is no better place to partake in Michigan Wine Month. For the entirety of May, participate in Traverse City Uncorked with the free digital passport. Sign up for your passport online and start planning your tour. Once you’ve checked into five or more locations, you will win a pair of ‘Uncorked’ branded socks! To complete your stay, there are various options for wine tour transportation companies and accommodations close to wine tours and vineyards.

Secure your spring retreat now and find the ideal accommodation for your Traverse City visit. Whether you prefer resorts, rustic cottages, lakefront lodging, bed & breakfasts, or pet-friendly properties, there is a diverse range of options. Plan your visit today at traversecity.com.
