Video Conferencing During COVID Spurs Interest in Facial Rejuvenation, Other Skin Procedures

During the pandemic, people have spent more time than ever before on video calls for work and to connect with family and friends. A byproduct of this, they also are spending a good portion of that time staring at their own reflections, exploring every line, comparing every wrinkle and divot with those of others, and obsessing over imperfections. People are simply not used to seeing themselves that much and they’re noticing aspects of themselves they didn’t before.

At the Detroit Aesthetics Company, Michigan’s premier medical spa and beauty clinic, they have received an increase in requests for information about facial and skin procedures that will improve their appearance, on screen and off.

According to founder Kyle Farr, DNP, NP-C., a natural, rejuvenated and more youthful appearance can be achieved using the latest aesthetic, non-surgical procedures designed to lift the face and create definition. It could be a small amount of an injectable filler in the jaw or Botox in the forehead, all done in one session, tailored for each client and typically requiring nearly no downtime.

His overall focus is full facial rejuvenation with a “less is more” philosophy and it all starts with a comprehensive consultation and facial assessment. This consult is critical in devising a treatment plan that will help clients achieve their goals and set desired outcomes. No client is ever approached the same, and each client receives their own individual aesthetic plan.

    Kyle Farr

Rather than focusing on one thing, like only the lips, Farr looks at the face in its entirety. The goal of all his assessments for patients is to bring them facial balance and harmonization, which is key for a successful outcome.

He usually takes a slow, more conservative approach, aiming for subtle, but impactful changes, allowing for treatments to settle in prior to building upon them for complete optimization. The process is a journey, but Farr believes going slow provides the safest and best outcomes.

Detroit Aesthetics Company is proud to be Plymouth, Michigan’s premiere location for Botox® Cosmetic and Xeomin injections. Botox and other neuro-modulator injections provide a non-surgical way of reversing some of the visible signs of aging. The injections, performed by Farr or one of Detroit Aesthetics Company’s expert practitioners, are a natural, purified protein that is typically used in the forehead and the lines around the outer eye regions to decrease the activity in the muscles, which prevents the skin from wrinkling and creasing.

Injections, when administered properly, do not paralyze the facial muscles or keep patients from expressing themselves. The therapy simply softens and rebalances facial movements that have become habitual and repetitive over the years. This results in a more youthful, relaxed and vibrant appearance.

Farr has studied and perfected dozens of non-surgical facial enhancement procedures though some of the best aesthetic practitioners in the world, such as Dr. Arthur Swift, a trend-setter in the field of injectables that pioneered a revolutionary approach to that follows Leonardo Da Vinci’s principle of beauty and harmony through “divine” proportion, also known as “phi” or the golden ratio long used by artists and architects. Like Swift, Farr uses tools to measure facial proportions that map out and guide the injection therapy to create harmony and balance within facial features, thus, improving one’s aesthetic.
