Finding Home: Stories of Displacement

The newest exhibition from Detroit Artists Market explores the stories of America’s marginalized communities. The featured works carry themes of home, history, displacement, memory, and activism. The works were crafted by local artists, such as Bryce Detroit, Parisa Ghaderi, Oren Goldenberg, Rebeca Maxon, Wayne Ramocan Jr., and Darryl DeAngelo Terrell. No cost. Through May 21. Forgotten Harvest Comedy Night

Forgotten Harvest’s 29th annual Comedy Night fundraiser will be headlined by Seth Meyers, the Emmy Award-winning writer and host of Late Night with Seth Meyers. The comedian also starred in 13 seasons of Saturday Night Live and was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people, in 2014. Proceeds from the event will support distribution efforts to Forgotten Harvest’s network of more than 180 agencies across the metro Detroit area. $35+. April 29. Classic Car Nights

This weekend, show off your wheels, socialize with fellow car enthusiasts, and enjoy live theater. Guests who pull up to Meadow Brook Theatre in a vintage vehicle during Classic Car Nights will receive a free ticket to the evening’s performance. Meadow Brook’s current show is The Pin-Up Girls, a funny, romantic, heartbreaking, and patriotic musical that celebrates those who defend our country.  The Magic Soiree

This hilarious show will be hosted by award-winning comedy magicians Lady Sarah and Keith Fields, who bring the magic right to your table as you enjoy a delicious, buffet-style diner. The Guess Who

The Guess Who has put out numerous Top 40 hits, including “These Eyes,” “Clap for the Wolfman,” “Hand Me Down World,” “No Time,” “No Sugar Tonight,” and beloved rock anthem “American Woman.” Fans can catch the Canadian classic rockers in an intimate show this Saturday at the Andiamo Showroom. $52+. Michigan vs. California Wine with Chris Southern

In celebration of Michigan Wine Month this May, The Royce Detroit is hosting events showcasing the state’s wine. Kicking off the series is a lesson from Detroit Vineyards’ winemaker Chris Southern, who will draw on his expansive knowledge and international experience to compare Michigan and California wine. Attendees will learn the reasons behind the nuances and how to identify them. Instruction will be accompanied by a flight of six carefully curated wines — you know, for educational purposes. $45. Fight For Air Climb

This Sunday, more than one thousand people — including individuals, families, and corporate teams of all fitness levels — will hit the stairs at Comerica Park for the American Lung Association in Michigan’s Fight for Air Climb. Local firefighters will kick off this year’s climb, trekking an estimated 2,123 stairs, or about three-quarters of a mile. They’ll then be joined by the other participants, who can choose from a number of climbing options.
