Rising middleweight contender Marvin Vettori will seek to dethrone champion Israel Adesanya in this weekend’s highly anticipated rematch. Cavalleria Rusticana Performance
After the postponement of Michigan Opera Theatre’s 2021-22 season, the organization is rebounding with a concert presentation of Cavalleria Rusticana — a tragic masterpiece composed by Pietro Mascagni and credited as the sole catalyst for the Verisimo movement in the Italian operatic tradition. The one-act opera follows a doomed love triangle, as it unravels over the course of a single Easter holiday. $129.50+. June 12. COVID-19 Memorial Garden
Guests who paint a rock and add it to the Detroit Historical Museum’s new COVID-19 Memorial Garden will earn free admission to the museum this Saturday. The project, which will extend throughout the summer, recognizes the losses suffered by the metro Detroit community because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even as summer and the garden project draw to a close, some of its stones will be collected as artifacts and added to the Detroit Historical Society’s permanent collection. No cost. June 12. Second Saturday Fitness Fest
To support its goal of eradicating racial health disparities, the Black Health Movement Foundation is offering outdoor workouts each month this summer. A New Brain
In collaboration with Ferndale’s Ringwald Theatre, Theatre Nova in Ann Arbor presents A New Brain. The musical details the emotional, spiritual, and intellectual journey, and eventual transformation, of a composer suffering a medical emergency. Wings and Wheels
Touch down on the tarmac at the Historic Willow Run Airport to explore a huge display of rare cars and aircraft, built between the years of 1930 and 1969, at the Wings and Wheels event. The Yankee Air Museum event will feature more than 100 historic cars and trucks, loaned from organizations across the country — including five from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and five from the GM Heritage Collection.
