The Detroit Zoo has announced its 2022 lineup for its After-Hours 21+ Event Series. This year’s events are Zoo Brew, Summer Sips, Spooky Spirits, and Polar Beers. They’ll feature plenty of drinks, activities, photo opportunities, and access to the habitats.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome everyone back for our lively, in-person events,” says Hayley W. Murphy, CEO and executive director of the Detroit Zoological Society, in a press release. “It’s an exciting time…”

The first of these events is Zoo Brew: For the Birds on May 21. Zoo Brew will feature more than 80 different beers from local Michigan breweries, an axe-throwing inflatable game, and giant beer pong. Zoo Brewupport vulture conservation projects like VulPro, a new initiative to help repopulate vultures in South Africa.

The new Jimmy Buffet-inspired Summer Sips event will be held on July 29 and will have a variety of cocktails and spirits as well as live entertainment from Buffet tribute band Air Margaritaville, who will be playing the artist’s greatest hits.

Finally, Spooky Spirits will be held on Oct. 14 and will have a swath of different specialty cocktails and classic spirits. Attendees of the event are encouraged to dress in costume. Then Polar Beers take place on Dec. 8 and will offer over 70 different beers from Michigan craft breweries underneath the twinkling holiday lights on display at the zoo. Both events will feature games and entertainment.

Tickets to the After-Hours 21+ Event Series can be purchased on the Detroit Zoo’s website. eneral Admission tickets are $50, and there is also a new general admission event package that grants access to all four of the after-hours events this summer for $175.
