313 Day, which is lovingly named after the iconic 313 area code, falls on March 13 every year and often features tons of events, specials, giveaways and more to honor and celebrate the Motor City. Here’s a sampling of what’s going on in Detroit on 313 Day in 2026.
What Up Doe? 313 Day
Paint a 16×20 canvas inspired by Detroit in celebration of 313 Day for $40. Bring your own snacks, beer, and wine. Advance registration is required. Ages 16 years and up only. Free Tours from Distinctively Detroit Tours
Perhaps you want to play tourist on 313 Day. Fortunately, Distinctively Detroit Tours is offering two-hour tours for free starting at 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2 p.m. The driving tour will include views of the Motown Museum, The Packard Plant, The Heidelberg Project, Eastern Market, The Joe Louis Monument, Michigan Central, Corktown, The Guardian Building, and more. 313 Day at The Station

313 Day at Valade
The Detroit River Conservancy is teaming up with Local 4 and Raise the Flag Detroit for this free, all ages event featuring live music, trivia, poetry, interactive art activities, vendors, and more. We Run 313 is also hosting a 3.13-mile run along the Riverfront beginning at p.m. as part of this celebration. Begins at 3:13 p.m. Robert C. 313 Day at Belle Isle
Belle Isle is going all out for 313 Day and has a whole slate of activities, including extended facility hours for the Belle Isle Aquarium, the Belle Isle Nature Center, and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. Among the activities scheduled is the 313 Day Detroit House Party featuring DJ Bruce Bailey at the Belle Isle Casino from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Additionally, there are multiple storytime events in the morning and afternoon at the Belle Isle Aquarium in celebration of National Reading Month. Detroit Rock City: Rock ‘n’ Roll Film Screening & Party
Hosted by 94.7 WCSX’s Doni Flynn, the Senate Theater proudly presents a screening of the 1999 cult classic Detroit Rock City. The event will also feature Gingko Records, KISS/Detroit rock-themed trivia, KISS face painting, a costume contest, a Detroit rock set from DJ Adam Stanfel, and more. 6 p.m.-10:30 p.m. $10 general admission or $15 general admission with a Detroit Rock City button. Bring your bike, wear your favorite Detroit gear, and take a ride down the Joe Louis Greenway with other biking enthusiasts in celebration of 313 Day.
