Calling all pop culture fans! Motor City Comic Con, the largest pop culture event in Michigan since 1989, is back at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Oct. 14-16, 2022, with cosplay, movie screenings, meet-and-greets with some of your favorite characters, and much more.
This semi-annual convention, which turns 33 this year, features nearly 30 celebrity guests including Jamie Far of M*A*S*H, Laurie Holden from The Walking Dead, Jim Beaver from Supernatural, Alice Cooper, Danny Lloyd from The Shining, Cassandra Peterson (aka Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), and many others.
Attendees will also have the chance to catch some comic creators such as illustrator Andy Bennett, author Cerece Rennie Murphy, and artist Tony Moy.
Photo ops and autographs with these guests will be available for an additional charge.
In addition to these special guest appearances, comic book and multimedia dealers from across the country who offer a wide variety of merch will be on site, along with pop culture artist and crafter booths.
But that’s not all. Motor City Comic Con also offers plenty of activities and attractions for fans of all ages.
Come in your best cosplay and participate in the cosplay contest for your shot at the $500 first place prize; see a screening and live commentary of the cult classic, Hocus Pocus; explore your artistic talents in Art Alley; enjoy a story with your favorite Star Wars character; and take a photo with The Munster’s Koach.
Be sure to bring the kids along for even more fun in the Kids Den, which features family activities such as crafts, drawing classes, movie makeup, a youth cosplay contest and more.
