Oakland Uncorked: In partnership with the Oakland County Farmers Market, Oakland Uncorked offers a wine and food tasting experience from local restaurants, including Cacao Tree Café, Parker’s Hilltop Brewery, Fork n’ Pint, Irish Tavern, and The Clean Plate. 2017 Westland All American Backyard BBQ Throwdown: Backyard barbecuers will be put to the ultimate test in this year’s annual competition. Detroit Institute of Arts: Photographer Jenny Risher is showcasing Detroit’s hip-hop scene with her latest project, D-Cyphered. The exhibition includes portraits of over 80 of Detroit’s past, present and future hip-hop players. Hip-hop producer Nick Speed has also created a custom playlist for the exhibit. Opens Aug. 3. $25.
