Following the recent openings of trendy hair salons, Detroit Blows and Blo Detroit, metro Detroit’s blow-dry bar scene is about to get even bigger. Drybar, the California-based premier blowout salon chain, is opening its first Michigan location in Birmingham next week.

“After countless requests to open a Drybar in the Detroit area, we are ecstatic to finally offer our signature services in Birmingham,” says Alli Webb, founder of the nationally acclaimed brand with more than 70 locations. “We are thrilled to be joining all of the amazing local shops and restaurants that make up the vibrant downtown community.”

The salon will celebrate its grand opening on June 15, from 7 a.m. to 8. p.m., offering blowouts, complimentary champagne, gifts, special membership offers, and a free blowout with a purchase of a monthly Barfly Membership.

Drybar’s extensive bar-themed hair styling menu includes services like “The Old Fashioned,” a Hollywood signature, “The Manhattan,” a sleek and smooth blowout, the “Mai Thai,” an effortlessly beachy style, and of course, the “Classic Blowout.”

The Birmingham location will also sell styling products for maintaining the perfect blowout, with favorites like the Buttercup Blow-Dryer, $195, On the Rocks Shampoo and Conditioner, $26 each, Prep Rally, $23, and Detox Dry Shampoo, $23.

The 1,993-square-foot salon will include the brand’s noteworthy design elements like custom Italian styling chairs, tufted fabric walls, marble bars with built-in phone docking stations, and flat screen TVs featuring chick-flick favorites. The perfect cocktail for women who like their salons the way they like their drinks: neat.
