Sunday August 26 is National Dog Day! Detroit Barbers Barbershop & Brand is teaming up with local nonprofit, Detroit Bulldog Rescue, to celebrate the day with pups, beards, and coffee cups. Head to Corktown to enjoy the festivities.

The event will take place from noon to 2 p.m., and Detroit Barbers Barbershop owners Jami and Chad Buchanan’s resident bulldog, Puma, will be on full display. But don’t be fooled, this is an event for both two-legged and four-legged guests. Puppy-centric services will include dog washes, a bulldog kissing booth, and a pampering station for featuring pet-friendly items from Detroit Barbers’ limited-edition line. Just this year, the brand released a pet-exclusive, natural products line including shampoos, conditioners, and moisturizers, which will be available for purchase at the one-of-a-kind event.

Human companions can indulge in a cup of Populace Coffee from Detroit Barbers’ upcoming coffee shop, Lucky Detroit, and for bearded attendees, the shop will also offer beard trims. Proceeds from both coffee sales and beard trims will benefit Detroit Bulldog Rescue in their mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and find new homes for bulldogs throughout Michigan. Representatives from Detroit Bulldog Rescue will provide information on adopting and fostering bulldogs.
