Planning the perfect Valentine’s Day can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. Leave the cooking to the professionals, and check out one of these seven metro Detroit restaurants this weekend

The Apparatus Room

A Valentine’s Day Prix Fixe Dinner is coming to the Detroit Foundation Hotel’s Apparatus Room on Feb. 14 and 15 with a menu from Chef Thomas Lents. The family-style meal is $95 per person, with your choice of a main course. The special menu will include items such as Canapés, Saffron and Shellfish Risotto, Lightly Smoked Farro Island Salmon, and Slow Braised Beef Short Rib, and desserts from Pastry Chef Duncan Spangler. For an additional $75 up-charge, couples can get a Prime Chateaubriand for Two. To top it off, the hotel has partnered with Maison Farola to offer floral arrangements for your romantic night. The Whitney

Dine at The Whitney on Feb. 14 and 15 and enjoy a special four-course menu. A look at the menu includes Cocktail Shrimp in Love, Seared Beef Tenderloin Crostini, and Heirloom Tomato Cucumber Chip for the first course. Other menu items include Beef Wellington, Seared Wild Caught Salmon, Steak and King Crab for two, and fourth-course dessert items such as Pastry Chef Eric’s Chocolate Dream or Wild Berry Sorbet. A souvenir red rose will be placed at each table for guests to complement the romantic evening. On Feb. 14 and 15, The Ghostbar will also be open to dining guests with live jazz music until midnight. Iridescence is offering a Valentine’s Day menu on Feb. 14. The $85 per person four-course menu offers Charred Tomato Bisque, Alaskan King Crab, Seared Yellowfin Tuna, and Jackfruit Enchiladas. For desserts, a Chocolate Tart, Baba au Rhum — a dish consisting of charred pineapple and vanilla cream — or a Champagne Strawberry Sorbet is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Three Cats

Offering a special chef’s dinner for Valentine’s Day, visit Three Cats from Feb. 13-15 for a romantic meal. The menu includes A Taste of Boston, a dish featuring scallops, shiitake compote, pea pods, blood orange, and a vinaigrette. There’s also a dish called A Michigan Delicacy, which consists of mushroom bisque, caramelized ramp, and scallion crème fraiche. An Indiana Salad features seared duck confit, and the Principle Plate is a dish of braised lamb, wild mushroom risotto, lamb essence with fresh horseradish, and root vegetables. End the night with a dessert martini feature chocolate and cured berries. Dinner is $49 per person, and vegetarian options are available upon request. Pernoi is offering a unique four-course Valentine’s Day menu prepared by its executive chef and owner, Luciano DelSignore. To start off, first-course menu items include Foie Gras Torchon, Salt Roasted Beets, and Prawn Tartare. Second and third-course items include Octopus, Saffron Capellini, and Crab Agnolotti. The fourth course features Rohan Duck Breast, Sea Bass, Roasted Rutabaga Steak, and Iowa Wagyu Beef. Last but not least, dessert items include White Chocolate Cheesecake and Caraibe Chocolate Tart. Castalia at Sfumato

This unique Valentine’s Day event includes a guided discussion of a series of science-based love accelerating questions, meant to help you fall in love. The light-hearted event includes small bites and a flight of four sensual cocktails paired to fragrances. Seatings are at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Feb. 14 and cost $50 per person. Celebrate Valentine’s Day Feb. 14-16 at Meriwether’s with mouthwatering features and romance. The exclusive menu includes a Signature Salmon dish, which consists of sixty south salmon, signature Maryland crab cake stuffing, red pepper béarnaise, whipped potatoes, and fresh asparagus. Also being offered is a Double Cut Elk Chop, which includes Brussels sprouts, butternut squash purée, and cherry demi-glace. There’s also an Ultimate Surf + Turf that consists of a 6 oz filet mignon, a crab-stuffed lobster tail, asparagus, and whipped potatoes.
