La Saj Lebanese Bistro

Of the good Middle Eastern spots in metro Detroit, this one has higher ambitions than most, with linen-covered tables, spacious banquettes, and a well-dressed waitstaff who show their training. Although the menu offers familiar-sounding dishes, from hummus and grape leaves to shawarma and spinach pie, each is from a recipe tweaked by the proprietors, brothers Sal and Alex Awada, to give their fare its distinction.
