Women in Blue

Women in Blue, hosted by the Detroit Public Safety Foundation, is an event celebrating Detroit’s female first responders with Detroit Police, Fire and EMS. The event honors the contributions of the women who work tirelessly to keep Detroit safe. During the ceremony, awards are presented for a Women in Blue Officer of the Year and a Detroit Fire Department Woman of the Year. The winners are selected out of 18 finalists who were nominated by their peers and supervisors. This year’s keynote speaker is Michigan Supreme Court Justice Kyra Harris Bolden and WWJ’s Jackie Paige is the event host. This year marks the 10th annual Women in Blue event. The event will be held at the Roostertail on Thursday, May 18th from 8:30 am – 9:30 am. Ticket and sponsorship information is available at www.detroitpublicsafety.org.
