Detroit’s Eminem to perform with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and others during 2022 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The stars will take the stage along with Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar on Feb. 13, 2022, at the SoFi Stadium. This will be the first time all five perform together.

A ballot drive launches in Michigan to pick future presidents by popular vote.

Yes on National Popular Vote was created by Mark Brewer, a former Michigan Democratic Party chairman, and Saul Anuzis, a former Michigan Republican Party chairman. 

A new luxury hotel is breaking ground in Detroit.

The seven-story Godfrey Hotel will be in Corktown. It will feature 227 rooms, a chef-driven restaurant, and I|O, one of the city’s largest indoor/outdoor rooftop lounges.

Vault of Midnight opens its new Detroit location on Saturday.

The comic book store is opening in a larger space in Milwaukee Junction. Guests can expect free comic books, a video game truck, and more at the grand opening.

The Grand Prix considers returning to downtown Detroit.

Event organizers may move the annual IndyCar race from Belle Isle to downtown, which is where the race began in 1982. The move would take effect for the 2023 event.

Motown Museum opens a pop-up shop in Greektown.

Fans can now purchase merchandise at the shop. Motown label photographer Jim Hendin was signing copies of Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On during the pop-up’s grand opening today.

NBA Hall of Famer Chris Webber is building a cannabis campus.

The $175 million project, which broke ground yesterday in Southwest Detroit, will include a dispensary, cannabis consumption lounge, and cultivation space.

The last Kmart in Michigan is closing soon.

Located in Marshall, the store will close on Nov. 21. The company, which was founded in the state, has been shuttering locations for decades.

Tom Hardy pays homage to Detroit in the new Venom sequel.

Hardy’s character wears a “Mumford Phys. Ed. Dept.” shirt, a nod to fictional Detroit police detective Axel Foley, who was played by Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop.

Detroit and Oakland County began Pfizer booster clinics this week.

Detroit’s clinics will offer boosters to immunocompromised people, those 65 and older, and residents whose jobs put them at increased risk of exposure.
