Caring for Cashmere

Sharon Eisenshtadt, owner of SHE in Bloomfield Hills, shares these tips for wearing and caring for cashmere:

1. Hand-washing cashmere using a mild detergent and cold water will make it softer.

2. Don’t hang a sweater. It will lose its shape, and hanger stretch marks can be permanent.

3. Use a sweater comb to remove pilling.

4. Cashmere is a luxe, natural fiber that’s not meant to be saved for special occasions. It can work with anything from denim to cocktail and can be worn year-round.
